KMU English Conversation II Week 4 Homework
Compare two different cellular phone cultures.
Research how cell phones are used in a foreign country and compare it to Korea. You will probably need to research data on Korean cell phone culture as well. For example, this article from MSNBC details cell phone activity in Korea.
Detail the differences like:
- the number of cell phone users in both countries
- analyze the “texting” between the two counries
- average cell phone usage & bills in both countries
- cell phone etiquette
- other forms of communication other than cell phones
After you’ve completed your 350 words or more report/analysis, please post it up to your website/blog. After you upload it to your blog/website, please email both your team members and me the blog/website url/address.
Happy Chuseok Everyone!

hello, professor. I examined about unep. before I did homwork. I had know only green peace about environment group. but for this homework. I can learn and understanding about this group.
The UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) is a collaboration between the United Nations Environment Programme, the world’s foremost intergovernmental environmental organization, and WCMC 2000, a UK-based charity.
Our Vision
A world where biodiversity counts
Our Mission
To evaluate and highlight the many values of biodiversity and put authoritative biodiversity knowledge at the centre of decision-making
Our Goal
To be an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence for the synthesis, analysis and dissemination of global biodiversity knowledge, providing authoritative, strategic and timely information for conventions, countries, organizations and companies to use in the development and implementation of their policies and decisions.
Our Mandate
The Centre has a mandate from the UNEP Governing Council to provide a range of biodiversity-related services to UNEP, the biodiversity-related conventions and their constituent party-states and other bodies in the non-governmental and private sectors (Decision GC 22/1/III).
Other more specific mandates derive from the UNEP Governing Council, decisions taken by Conferences of the Parties to specific international conventions, the World Parks Congress and elsewhere.
Strategic Plan
UNEP-WCMC has worked together with a range of stakeholders to prepare a Strategic Plan for the period 2006-2011. The Strategic Plan identifies six Strategic Objectives which need to be addressed in order to achieve the Centre’s mission and goal. Each year a number of Activity Areas will be identified within each of these Strategic Objectives.
transition plan
It is clear that a new Strategic Plan alone will not guarantee the Centre achieving its mission and goal. A number of key areas have been identified that need to be addressed so that they do not become impediments to progress. The Centre has therefore prepared a Transition Plan that aims to transform UNEP-WCMC into an institution structured and focused to provide access to biodiversity information in a manner tha will enhance its incorporation into policies and decisions at all levels.
The Transition Plan has been fully costed and funds are being sought to ensure its efficient implementation. Anyone wishing to assist should contact UNEP-WCMC’s Head of Development.
